A gang of six teenagers, three boys and three girls, ambushed a 50-year-old commuter at the Coney Island subway terminal, inflicting a brutal and unprovoked attack, according to police sources.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. on June 2, on the mezzanine level of the busy Stillwell Ave. station.
The assailants violently punched and kicked the victim in the head and body before hastily fleeing the scene.
Medics rushed the injured man to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.
In pursuit of the attackers, the police have released multiple images of the primary suspects taken on video outside the station after the vicious attack. Notably, one of the adolescents was caught on camera attempting a backflip.
Authorities now urge the public to help identify and locate these suspects by providing any relevant information to Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be strictly confidential.
