Tony Bennett, the music legend, left a legacy not only through his songs but also in his family's hearts. Bennett's loved ones, son Danny Bennett and wife Susan Benedetto, recently discussed their poignant last moments with him, following his passing at the age of 96.
Danny Bennett, whose mother is Patricia Beech, Tony Bennett's former wife, had also worked as the star's manager. He remembered his father fondly, describing him as a "man of the people." Narrating his recollections of their final exchange, the emotional son recounted, "His last words to me were, ‘Thank you.’ You can't say it better than that.”
The celebrated singer, Bennett, was married to Beech from 1950 to 1970, with their union bearing another son, Dae, along with Danny. Post Beech, Bennett was married to Sandra Grant, and they had two daughters - Joanna and Antonia Bennett - before they separated in 1984.
In 2007, Bennett married Benedetto, who remained steadfastly by his side during his battle with Alzheimer's in his twilight years. Emotionally recalling his final words, Benedetto shared, "That he loved me … he would wake up every day and still say that. He woke up happy every day."
