Danny Bennett, whose mother is Patricia Beech, Tony Bennett's former wife, had also worked as the star's manager. He remembered his father fondly, describing him as a "man of the people." Narrating his recollections of their final exchange, the emotional son recounted, "His last words to me were, ‘Thank you.’ You can't say it better than that.”

In 2007, Bennett married Benedetto, who remained steadfastly by his side during his battle with Alzheimer's in his twilight years. Emotionally recalling his final words, Benedetto shared, "That he loved me … he would wake up every day and still say that. He woke up happy every day."
